This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the responsible public office for those services.
Official Records Contacts
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office operates the County Jail and routes requests for inmate, arrest, custody, criminal, and warrant records. Use the office that owns the record instead of sending personal details to an unrelated service.
San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office
1585 Kansas Avenue
San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
Main office: (805) 781-4550
Main Jail questions: (805) 781-4600
Records & Warrants: (805) 781-4588
Records hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The right route depends on the question:
- For a booking sheet or booking photograph, begin with the county records and custody hub, then submit a focused request to Sheriff Records & Warrants.
- For an affected person’s warrant inquiry, use Records & Warrants rather than an unverified public name-search service.
- For a fresh booking, check the Sheriff’s rolling Booking Log; use the current roster only to test present County Jail custody.
- For a release date or custody alert, call the Main Jail for time-sensitive facts and use VINE registration from an official roster result.
- For a municipal police report, contact San Luis Obispo Police, Paso Robles Police, or Atascadero Police; the Sheriff holds the separate county booking record.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, use California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s CIRIS search; federal and immigration custody use BOP and ICE locators.
- For the outcome of a filed criminal case, consult San Luis Obispo Superior Court rather than relying on intake charges.
A countywide Public Records Act request can also be sent to admin@co.slo.ca.us, mailed to 1055 Monterey Street, Suite D430, San Luis Obispo, CA 93408, faxed to (805) 781-5023, or discussed at (805) 781-5011. Sheriff-specific routing is usually more direct for jail material.
